This Week’s Practice Management Tip
Create a Business Checking Account
It’s a must. Having a structured way to manage your money is crucial, and you’ll need separate accounts for business and personal finances. To set up a business checking account, I’m now using Grasshopper Bank.
Weird name, but I’ve found Grasshopper to be an efficient online business checking account and you can create it in about 10 minutes with very little money. The only downside is you can’t deposit cash as it’s an online only bank, but most therapy practices do not accept cash these days anyway. Grasshopper offers unlimited transactions, ACH, and no monthly fees.
If you’re looking for an alternative to dealing with big banks like Wells Fargo and the frustrating process of opening a business checking/savings account, Grasshopper might be a great option for you.
You have a 1000 Facebook connections, but feel more alone than ever… Though Mark Manson isn’t a licensed therapist, he’s written and produced material that is easily applied to our field for a long time. If you’ve never read it, his first book The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck is excellent.
This can probably be done very easily through your EHR software. The real challenge is holding clients accountable and charging the fee when they late cancel, or no-show. Remember, your time is valuable.
