First off, let’s start with explaining these acronyms:

• FinCen: Financial Crimes Enforcement Network

• BOI: Beneficial Ownership Information

Why do these matter? If you own a private counseling practice in the US, you most likely have an additional government requirement to complete to remain in compliance. Failure to do so will lead to a HEFTY fine!

If you formed a business (LLC, PLLC, S-Corp, etc.) prior to January 1, 2024 you have until January 1, 2025 to complete the BOI form online. THIS IS A REQUIREMENT BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT!
