A Special Holiday Request- Round 2!

Hello, and welcome to Counselor Weekly! Thanks again for being part of the community!

A Special Holiday Request!- Round 2

Well, I didn’t get the response I’d hoped for last week, so we’re trying it again. Here is the total number of people that donated from last week’s newsletter:

0

I went ahead and donated $1000 personally to the cause. Let’s see if we can make an impact this holiday season!! I’ve set up a donation link to the Make-A-Wish Foundation with the goal of raising at least $2000 for children that could absolutely benefit from a holiday surprise. If you don’t know the impact Make-A-Wish makes in the community, here are some recent stats:

  • 8 out of 10 wish kids reported that their wish experience helped them overcome hopelessness, depression, and loneliness.

  • 9 out of 10 wish parents saw their child’s emotional well-being improve with a wish.

  • 9 out of 10 wish kids reported that the wish experience relieved them from traumatic stress.

We are blessed every day to help others improve, and as we head into 2024, let’s try to impact the lives of children and their families by making a small donation. Any amount you’re comfortable donating is much appreciated!

Here’s the link to the donation page if you would like to give:

I hope y’all have a wonderful holiday season!!

Are you an LPC Supervisor in Texas wanting to market your services and connect with potential Associates? Are you recently graduated from your Master’s program and beginning the search for an LPC Supervisor? If so, Find Your Supervisor is a directory for LPC Supervisors to list their information in a searchable index so that potential Supervisees can connect with them and hopefully find a perfect match! There’s even a FREE version! Though you will not get all the robust search capabilities and members only resources you receive with the paid version, the FREE option still allows you to market basic information about your practice.

What do I get in the paid version? The short answer: A LOT! CLICK HERE to access the pricing page to learn more. Just think, if you contract with one new Associate from the site, the PREMIUM plan has paid for itself for the whole year within one month. PLUS, I’m giving you a discount code to take one of my Supervisor Refresher Courses (6 hours of CEs) for FREE as part of the Premium membership. It’s almost paying for itself just with that discount.

If you have any questions, click REPLY to this email and I can answer any questions you have. Thanks again for allowing me this personal promotion! 🙏

Meme of the Day

I’ve used CEU by Net multiple times in the past. It’s only $49 for unlimited CEUs (CEs in Texas) for an entire year! They are an approved NBCC provider which qualifies their courses as approved for most states. All courses are online, so make sure you check with your state’s licensing board to confirm how many hours can be completed virtually.

.Are you experiencing any of the warning signs mentioned in this article? If so, maybe it’s a sign that something needs to change.

It’s always a concern when insurance companies want more information on clients, especially subjective information from therapeutic assessments.

That’s a whole lot of 💰 💵 !! So where is it all going? If you join Headway, they still take a cut of your money that’s billed to the insurance company. I can’t find any established rates for therapists listed either. Anyone ever use Headway? If so, what are the session rates?

Medicare is Coming!

Starting in January 2024, LPCs and LMFTs will be able to contract with Medicare to provide services. This is a big step in equality among mental health providers.

What’s Next❓

Opting in or Out of Services with Medicare

Here’s a link to information provided by the American Counseling Association about paneling with Medicare.

If you don’t want to pursue accepting Medicare, do you need to do anything? Here’s an article with information on “opting out” of Medicare services, plus a lot of additional information to consider.
