Here's the short and skinny of today's newsletter:

  • Taking a break from newsletters and social media, and why you might consider doing the same.

Meme of the Week

This Week’s Practice Management Tip

I’m Unsubscribing From My Own Newsletter!

Yep, this is the last newsletter you’ll see from me for the foreseeable future. Here’s why:

  • This adventure loses money. I’ve enjoyed offering what I hope has been helpful information each week, but focusing on profitable ventures makes more sense.

  • Social media is dumb. No offense if you love it, but I don’t want to waste any more time each week attempting to engage in social media to grow subscribers for something that will never really produce a lot (if any) income. Life’s too short, and social media is not where I want to spend it. There’s a reality to the rat race of growing a newsletter that requires tons of daily effort engaging with social media, and that’s simply not how I want to live.

  • It’s a lot of effort to put these together each week. Not overwhelming, but every couple hours used developing this newsletter is time wasted on developing my businesses that make money.

  • It was fun, but after over a year of sending out this newsletter, it’s not anymore. Common sense: if it’s not fun anymore, and costs money, you should probably stop doing it!

Overall, if you are wanting to start, grow, and maintain a thriving practice, my recommendation is to stop wasting your time reading and conversing with others about the process, and get out there and do it. Most (if not all) of the successful people and practice owners I know could care less about social media. They are focused on their business and how to grow organically and through specific marketing techniques.

If I can help, please feel free to reach out, as one of the reasons I created this newsletter is my joy in helping other mental health professionals learn about the business side of running a practice.

Take care,

Matt
